Dovetail + Co and Urban Cowboy partnered to acquire, renovate, and operate the former Alpine Inn in Big Indian, New York, a 28 room Catskills Lodge abutting the Big Indian Wilderness and convert the property into the award winning Urban Cowboy Lodge.

​Blending Dovetail’s experience in large-scale lifestyle hotel development and Urban Cowboy’s expertise in intimate hospitality and design, the team has reimagined the storied property to celebrate its most important amenity: the pristine natural environment that surrounds it on all sides. Lyon Porter, known for his bold patterns and hand-picked Americana antique, designed all of the rooms and common spaces.

The Alpine Inn has been family owned and operated since 1936 with many guests returning year after year. The team hopes to honor that legacy and learn from the many beautiful memories and stories from the past.
